Pantry Stocking: Meal Method vs. 6 Can Method
There is some light controversy about pantry stocking methods. In one camp, you would use the "meal" method. In the other camp there is the "6 Can Method".
Meal Method: Buy and store Whole meals when you grocery shop.
6 Can Method: Buy and stock 6 cans of something/anything every time you go to the store.
Both are based on caloric requirements and family food that you actually eat and enjoy.
Which do you use or prefer?

I use the Double Pantry method. We have a menu/recipe list of 15-20 meals we prepare regularly. They use ingredients that cross over to multiple meals. The kitchen pantry holds enough for 1-2 meal preparations and the deep pantry holds enough of those items to prepare the same meals 4-6 times. When we shop, we use the list from items pulled from the deep pantry. This includes our freezers for items that require freezing.
